BobcatsRIO HONDO – Behind a furious fourth quarter scoring burst, the Rio Hondo Bobcats stayed perfect in District 32-3A with a gritty 43-42 win over La Feria on Monday night.

After tallying 24 points through the first three quarters, the Cats (22-7, 3-0 District 32-3A) overcame that sluggish start with a 19-point explosion in the final stanza to eke out the win over the Lions.

Although no Bobcats scored in double figures, it was a total team effort in the closely contested game between two of the league’s top squads.

Daniel Hernandez, Nade Adames and Meme Lopez paced Rio Hondo with eight points apiece. Adames also had the only three-point basket for the Cats.

Also, Henry Rangel chipped in six points while Carlos Flores had five. Josh Cuellar and Josh Gonzalez rounded out the scoring with four points each.
