Juan Galvez Rodriguez

Juan Galvez Rodriguez passed on December 16, 2013, originally born and raised in Rio Hondo, TX.

He was preceded by his wife Gregoria Mancillas Rodriguez; and sisters and brothers Genoveva R. (Pete) Gutierrez, Consuelo R. (Desiderio) Martinez, Adela R. (Jesus) Mares, Evangelina R. (Miguel) Quintanilla from Rio Hondo, TX; Santos and Ignacio Rodriguez from Rio Hondo, TX; and Martiriano G. (Josefa) Rodriguez from Brownsville, TX.

He is survived by a daughter Yolanda R. Flores of San Antonio, TX and sons Ruben and Rene R. Luna from San Benito, TX. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He served during the time of Mayor Montgomery. Rodriguez was a commissioner for Rio Hondo, TX and was director for Communities in Brownsville.

When he was City Commissioner Rio Hondo was granted the city money to set up the bridge that is now in Rio Hondo.

Pallbearers were Juan, Roberto, Desi R. Martinez, Raul Marez, Roger and Mike Rodriguez, Deacon Larry Rodriguez.

Juan will be missed by all. Thank you all for the comforting words, flowers, and for being goods friends.

Funeral services were in care of Castle Ridge Mortuary in San Antonio, TX and was laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, 11424 Culabra, San Antonio, TX.
