emergency-lightsA San Benito police officer was involved in a shooting incident Monday evening when he discharged his firearm at a juvenile.

Operations Chief Martin Morales Jr. of the San Benito Police Department said on Tuesday that the officer, who he did not identify, was in foot pursuit of three juveniles suspected of committing a crime when the incident occurred.

According to Morales, the officer in question responded to a call in reference to suspicious looking males on the 600 block of South Bonham. There, the officer approached three juveniles, who then fled on foot.

  1. An investigation is being conducted on the officer involved shooting. Where is the investigation on ASSISTANT CHIEF M.GALVAN? I hear he went to collect debt in POLICE UNIFORM not once but TWICE. And i hear also Chief Morales had some type of report filed against him where is that INVESTIGATION? WHY were they so quick to conduct an investigation on the municipal JUDGE. To me i maybe wrong but it looks like FAVORTISM to me. Something needs to get done.

Not surprising that something like this happens? There is no real supervision or administration within the San Benito Police Department. You have officers like this being investigated for something what appears to be a lack of common sense? How can you manage when there is no chief, where he can observe the department from within the department? Sorry Art, but you’re a retired Fed with Fed mentality. Yes, you have experience but you don’t have the experience that street officers have and then move among the ranks to understand how officers think or operate?
