Terminally ill SBHS grad survives grim prognosis, faces yet another

Christmas is a time for loved ones to cozy up at home, enjoy each other’s company and reminisce about the past year with a hopeful excitement for blessings to come.

While San Benito resident Janet Mata is exceptional in many ways, she is not the exception.

The San Benito resident and 2010 graduate of San Benito High School has dermatomyositis, a rare inflammatory disease that affects her muscular system.
