MOULTON—A San Benito man working at an oil feed in the Lavaca County area was killed Tuesday in an explosion that occurred onsite.

Jose Manuel Torres, a 45-year-old native of San Benito, was pronounced dead by Lavaca County Justice of the Peace Carol Renner at 11:17 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at a GreenHunter Resources oil feed in Moulton, Texas.

Moulton Police Chief Mark Pritchard said on Friday that Torres, who was living inside a FEMA travel trailer located in the yard, was inside a tanker holding down a piece of metal for a welder who was outside the tanker.
