Dr. Ismael Cantu shared a vision on Monday of a more unified and accountable San Benito Consolidated Independent School District.

Although acknowledging the likelihood of serving a relatively short tenure as the SBCISD interim superintendent, Cantu said that he’s set high expectations during his stint that include fostering unity within a divided Board of Trustees, safeguarding taxpayer money and maintaining safety at all campuses, not to mention promoting academic accountability.

Pay raises for family members? Come on San Benito! You are smarter than those 4! Stand Up! And demand answers! They are quick to respond about Tamales but cannot answer the People!
I failed to see one board member at the band concert…. Oh that’s right.. They re-scheduled their board policy date board meeting… Because they could not get four members ther, yeah right?

Ok, let me connect the dots for you all, since nobody ever asks questions around here. Obregon, former interim super., is good friends with RON MCVEY’s dad. They are from Mercedes, where MCVEY is currently a school board member. MCVEY works as a consultant for a design build company, that was recently hired by your FOUR board members. This company was hired solely by this FOUR even though it is something that is not needed. Cantu, new interim, is also from Mercedes. Our school attorneys, Flores&Torres, are from Mercedes and are great friends of MCVEY. (Which btw, they are also the new attorneys for Mercedes ISD) One more piece of information… Yliana was interviewed for the Assistant Supe job in Mercedes. Could it be that MCVEY helped her get that interview? This woman YLIANA, along with her 3 minions, continue to help vendors that will help them fund their campaign or further their careers(or at least try to…she didn’t get the job. Lol!) or the careers of their close family and friends. Who do these FOUR represent? MCVEY or SBCISD? And who’s getting richer on your dime?

Yes… Security and safety go hand in hand. We need to support our school district police department. They take care of all our kids!

    1. Security guards should stop holding hands and check for hall passes?

. By the way.. is it right for one of the board’s spouse to be hanging around a school during school hours where students are outside.. I Hope that the y have a vistitor’s pass From the office.. and that they are not going to any campus without visiting the office first….. No matter whoYou are or what position u hold u are no different from the rest of SBCISD PARENTS.. U BETTER BE GETTING THAT VISITORS PASS …. for the schools administrators …u have cameras.. How embarrassing that one of his priorities is unifying the board. Tells there maturity level, starting with the self-center Yliana G. Rodriguez -wait now Gonzalez.

Amazing that he has set high expectations without even knowing his salary. Amazing! Very well thought out majority 4! I thought for sure Ms. Huerta would have made wiser choices.

What a ridiculous priority! Newspaper headline reads “Priority #1:Unify the Board. Is that really why he was hired? Probably not gonna happen.

If George McShan could not foster “unity” doubtful anyone one else can. These people clearly do not represent the majority of San Benito. WE HAVE HIGHER EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS.

“expectations during his stint that include fostering unity within a divided Board of Trustees,”

    Expectations?

I expect you to slap them silly with the Bible. Start with Chuy. Then, bust out the KJV (it might be a bit thicker) and slap Ms. Yliana “in order of importance: Harlingen, Brownsville, Los Fresnos, then San Benito” G. Rodriguez with it.

But is that going to happen? I seriously doubt it.
