Tomasa Ayala
Tomasa G. Ayala, 85 of San Benito, Texas, went to be with God on November 25, 2013.
Tomasa was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and migrated here to the United States in the 1950’s and became a U.S. citizen in the 1990’s. She loved knitting and gardening. Tomasa was the matriarch of the family. She was a strong, loving, and dedicated mother who was always there for her family and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Ayala; two sons: Erasmo Ayala and Francisco Ayala Jr.; her parents: Victorio and Petra Gutierrez; and two sisters: Maria Gutierrez and Socorro Gutierrez.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Micaela (Jose) Alvarez, Petra (Pedro) Bejaran, Nati (Benigno) Pena, Senaida (Ramiro) Rodriguez, Guadalupe (Lisa) Ayala, Jose Manuel Ayala, Miguel (Rosa) Ayala, and David (Olga) Ayala; and her sister, Senaida Gutierrez.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Faith Pleases God Church, 4501 W. Expressway 83, Harlingen, Texas. Interment will follow to San Benito City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Victorio Ayala, Miguel Ayala, Guadalupe Ayala, David Ayala, Frankie Ayala, and Jose Luis Alvarez.
