Bus driver credited with shielding child from charging pit bull

A San Benito Consolidated Independent School District bus driver is being commended for averting what could have been a dangerous predicament for one student.

On Thursday, Sept. 26, 46-year-old bus driver Daniel Hernandez was dropping off students at the Tropics Mobil Home Community on Business 77 when he allegedly heard a child scream.

    As a parent and SBCISD tax payer, we are thankful for Mr. Hernandez’s quick thinking. He serves as a role model for all SBCISD employees. Outstanding job, Mr. Hernandez!!
