RH man apprehended for child abuse

RIO HONDO – A Rio Hondo man was arrested on Monday, Sept. 16, as the latest fugitive to be apprehended as a result of the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office Operation Magnet.

Eleazar Guajardo Jr., 34, of Rio Hondo was arrested by U.S. Marshals at a Harlingen motel on Monday for failing to appear at an arraignment hearing in February 2012. Guajardo was scheduled to be arraigned for alleged continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 as well as three other counts of indecency with a child (sexual contact).
