The launching of a new Texas Department of Transportation app is about numbers, specifically 25,794, 9,480 and 1,173—figures totaling the statewide amount of alcohol-related motor vehicle traffic crashes, serious injuries and fatalities in 2012, respectively.
Consider further that 260 of the deaths TxDOT reported last year involved drivers between the ages of 18 and 24 under the influence of alcohol, and 486 of such cases consisted of persons ages 18 to 34.
