On Opening Night, everyone is subject to some jitters.

Both Los Fresnos and San Benito exhibited them, but it was the Falcons who grew more comfortable as the night went on.

The Falcons stumbled early, but eventually got rolling as they held off the Greyhounds 24-16 in a non-district season opener at Bobby Morrow Stadium on Friday night.

We have supported the San Benito Greyhounds for 25 plus years and it was very hard watching them play on Friday against Los Fresnos. Our Hounds came up short, but we will forever be Greyhound Supporters. GO HOUNDS GO!!!!

  1. Time to move defense ends to running backs . Run the wish-bone . Make it a fast game. Gantt is a good coach but he needs to take risks and stop trying to play football with the community and start getting after that illusive District Championship. He needs more intensity with his kids as a coach. Coach Gantt! your a young coach and may have just started your carrier as a head football coach. But it’s time! for you and the SB Greyhounds to become legends! Harlingen went up against a tuff San Antonio team last week . If SB does not beat Harlingen next week get ready for a better Volley Ball Season
