Mari Galvan has been named the director of the new multi-million dollar Port Isabel Events Center.
Galvan, a San Benito resident who previously worked as an independent meeting and event planner for the past 13 years, settled into her new role as the center’s coordinator on July 15. She received an associate’s degree from the Art Institute of Houston in 1988 and a certification as a public service manager from the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2010.
