Local ballplayers win USSA World Series

A local baseball team made up of players from San Benito, Harlingen, Lyford and Raymondville won the 2013 United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) World Series in Dallas on Monday, July 8.

The team, which fielded three players from San Benito, including George Macuaca, Mark Hernandez and Gabriel Sandoval defeated teams from Kansas, West Texas, North Texas and Louisiana to claim the championship.
