With three new board members sworn in at a special school board meeting on Monday, the search for a new superintendent at Rio Hondo ISD might get a little interesting.
Newly-elected board members Jessica Gonzalez, Place 2, Arnold Martinez, Jr., Place 3, and Claudia Villalobos, Place 4, took the oath of office beginning their first term on the Rio Hondo ISD School Board after handily defeating long-serving incumbents. They enter their times during a time of uncertainty regarding the position of superintendent.
Anneliese McMinn, who currently serves as RHISD superintendent, has announced that she’ll be retiring at the end of the school year after having served the district in such capacity for nine years.
At the time of the election, the district was in the process of narrowing down a list of potential candidates to replace McMinn, but with the election of three new board members, the process of selecting a superintendent may change should the new board members implement their input in the process.

Amen brother/sister!
Any way to delay the hiring of the new supt. until after the San Benito board meeting on Thursday? 🙂
