The season may be over but the praise for Lady ’Hound sophomore golf sensation Emma Valle continues.

Valle, 16, who in her two years golfing for San Benito High School has qualified for regionals in consecutive years, has been named the 31-5A Most Valuable Player.

She wasn’t the only athlete honored, however, as SBHS golf coach Rene Montalvo announced Monday that Francisco Guerra of San Benito was awarded with a first team All-District golf selection while Greyhound Ben Valle was named to the second team. Earning Honorable Mention accolades were Daniel Guerra, Jesse Robles and Jason Santana.

“The switch over to 31-5A has been very positive,” Montalvo said of the school’s athletic transition from 32-5A, “so the athletes’ games have to be in pretty good shape. I’m very pleased with the outcome and our play overall.”
