RIO HONDO – The time has come.
Tuesday marked the final day of early voting in Rio Hondo as members of the community took to the polls to cast their ballots. All that’s left now is the day candidates and voters have been waiting for, Election Day.
Set for May 11, voters will decide seven races on Election Day in which four seats are up for grabs on the Rio Hondo ISD Board of Trustees and three on the Rio Hondo City Commission.
Early voting totals on Tuesday had not been tabulated as of presstime; however, as of Monday 336 ballots were cast since April 29, the most of which (75) came Saturday, May 4, in the city election.
The Rio Hondo Board of Trustees races, meanwhile, attracted 1,183 early voters as of 5 p.m. Tuesday.
