RHISD superintendent post yields 24 applicants

The Rio Hondo Independent School District is moving forward with the selection process of a new superintendent as current the super, Anneliese McMinn, plans to retire at the end of the school year. McMinn has served the district in said capacity for nine years.

The deadline to submit applications for the soon-to-be-vacant post came and went on Monday, April 8, with a total of 24 applications submitted.

“Now what’s going to happen next is we’re going to be calling a special meeting probably sometime in the week of April 22 to review all the applicants with the assistance of the search consultant (George H. McShan),” said RHISD Board President Noemi Garza on Tuesday. “After we review those, (McShan) is going to conduct a reference check on the applicants that are selected for interviews.”
