Noyola places second at Yellow Jacket Relays

HoundsELSA – The San Benito High School varsity boys’ track team competed at the Yellow Jacket Relays at Edcouch-Elsa High School on Friday, April 5.

Isaac Osorio, Armando Medrano, Gabriel Vasquez and JD Alonzo placed fourth in the 400 meter relay with a time of 44.25. Gabriel Noyola placed second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.39 while Jorge Cantu ran a time of 18.57.

John Allen ran a time of 2.21.28 in the 800 meter run. Competing in the 100 meter dash was Julian Vasquez who ran a time of 11.53 while Nate Mireles ran a time of 12.00 and Juan Torres ran a time of 13.05.

Jacob Flores ran a time of 54.80 in the 400 meter dash. Competing in the 300 meter hurdles was Gabriel Noyola who placed third with a time of 41.59 and Jorge Cantu who placed fifth with a time of 41.84.

Competing in the 200 meter dash was Jonathan Guzman who placed sixth with a time of 23.13 while Jamail Garza ran a time of 23.76 and Jonathan Alegria ran a time of 23.40.

Enrique Rodriguez had a throw of 42’10” in the shot put. Dylan Castillo placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 130’0”.

Competing in the pole vault was Alvaro Vargas who placed fifth with a vault of 11’6” while Brandon Huerta cleared 11’6”. Nate Mireles jumped 38’7” in the triple jump while Juan Torres jumped 39’6”. Matthew Perez and Jason Lopez both cleared 5’6” in the high jump.

The team, coached by Rolando Casas, scored a total of 28 points.
