SAN BENITO, TX– Sandy Romeros, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013.
A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and is survived by her husband of 61 years, Juan Romeros, Sr.; her sister, Rachel Sanchez; and her nine children: Roen Romeros, Norma Romeros Salamah, Rene Romeros, Johnny Romeros, Jr.; Bertha Romeros Cook, Elida Aguirre, Elva Gomez, Joe Silva, and Luis G. Silva. She was so proud and adored her nine children. Sandy had 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Sandy was a joyous, caring, athletic and creative woman. She loved to garden, exercise and dance. She enjoyed her career as a nurse at Dolly Vincent Hospital but enjoyed her retirement even more. She traveled every chance she could and visited many cities across the U.S.
She was a devout Catholic. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and truly cherished her parish family. She attended many functions which included giving back to her community. She had an outgoing personality and believed in helping people who were disadvantaged. She truly saw the best in all people.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with the holy rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral procession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Gomez, Joseph Salamah, Danny Silva, Sean Cook, John William Romeros, and Roland Romeros.
Her family will carry her in their hearts forever. She will be forever remembered for her kindness, her generosity and her intelligence; they would like to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to Sandy’s wonderful, skilled kind and devoted caregivers: Norma, Sylvia and Anaise.
