Emergency officials stress fireworks safety

fireworksFireworks and the 4th of July: Few combinations go together better, except for maybe, well, fireworks and fires.

That’s why San Benito and county officials are urging residents to play it safe this week while celebrating the country’s independence.

Conditions for this 4th of July season are favorable for fireworks. The county lifted the burn ban, and the weekend thunderstorms didn’t hurt.

  1. I wonder if anyone knows where there’ll be a firework display here in the Lower Valley?Brownsville maybe?
