On Wednesday, San Benito Police Department (SBPD) officers arrested a man believed to be carrying crack cocaine and marijuana.
Police pulled over a maroon Monte Carlo for a moving violation on April 18, and the officer responding to the scene said he noticed the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The officer then searched the vehicle and found a clear plastic bag containing a “rock-like substance,” which was believed to be crack cocaine. A second bag found contained marijuana.
According to police, the passenger in the vehicle, Jose A. Gonzalez, 27, allegedly stated that the illegal substances found in the car belonged to him.
