San Benito, TX – Lydia Vital Hernandez, 91, passed away at a local hospital on Friday morning surrounded by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Timoteo and Felecita Vital; her husband Gregorio C. Hernandez; one son Ramiro Hernandez; and a sister Cuca Martinez.
She is survived by eight children Celestina Trevino (Ignacio), Gregorio Hernandez (Celedonia), Janie Rodriguez (Romeo), Domitilia Tilton (Jerry), Rosa Lee Esquivel (Ubaldo), Dora Lee Cruz, Homer Hernandez (Norma) and Hector Hernandez; one sister Cristina Becerra and one brother Emilio Vital; 119 grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces nephews and a host of friends that will miss her dearly.
Visitation was held Monday from 1 p.m. till 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. till 9 p.m. with a prayer service Tuesday at 6 p.m. and a rosary at 7 p.m. at Henry Thomae Funeral Home Chapel. Church services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
