Fast start, bad finish as ’Hounds lose to Porter

A great start on the road Tuesday night had the San Benito Greyhounds on their way to evening their 32-5A District record to 2-2. Leading after a quarter and controlling the game through the mid-way point of the second, the ’Hounds appeared on their way before Porter took control and ran off with a 59-41 win.

San Benito came out firing on all cylinders as they raced out to a 16-5 lead after a quarter of play against a team that was trying to find themselves. Porter had played badly in their last game against Pace and their head coach was trying to wake up the team to start playing to their potential.

Joshua Lopez and the Greyhounds seemed to care little of that as he was red hot scoring 11 first half points and helping his team to the lead. Then at the mid-way point of the second quarter Porter turned things around. They had a late run, and then, trailing by five, went on a tear as they scored points in bunches while at the same time the ’Hounds offense went south.
