city logoCity of San Benito officials have announced plans to move the city forward in 2011.

“We have a little over 40 projects in the books, but some of them are funded and some of them are unfunded,” said City Manager Manuel Lara. “Come the first of the year, I usually get direction from the elected officials of the specific goals they have for that year. They are usually given to me the first week of January.”

“As far as goals, our main priority should always be infrastructure projects in relation to the city. There’s a couple in mind that stand out and I’m excited about,” said Mayor Jack Garcia. “The drainage project on McCullough Street is really high up there. I know we’re painting our water tower on Williams Road, and we’re going to be also putting new lighting fixtures downtown.”
