In a rematch game from a tournament just a few weeks ago the San Benito Greyhounds shook off the holiday rust and won in thrilling fashion with an Anthony Moreno jumper in a 67-65 overtime win.

“We got it going in the second half,” said Head Coach Eddie Abrego. “We challenged the kids in the third quarter and they responded.”

La Joya jumped out to an early lead at 12-11 after a quarter and built on that with a 19-13 second quarter for a 31 24 lead. Then the third quarter turned the tide.

“We were diving for balls,” said Abrego, “and every loose ball was ours.”

In the quarter the defense held La Joya to just six points as they outscored them, 16-6. The final quarter would see La Joya find the range from the outside as they nailed four from beyond the arc yet the ’Hounds matched them point for point.
