What better way to show affection to someone than to embrace them with a nice warm hug?
That seems to be the mindset of Mary Lou Saldaña and her family this year as they initiate the first annual “Christmas Hugs” project, a campaign aimed at collecting coats, jackets, and blankets from around the community to donate needy families.
“I used to do this at school when I had my co-op students. It was our Christmas project in school. Now I’m starting it with my family,” said Saldaña, referencing her involvement in a similar project while employed at San Benito High School as a teacher.
