Ramon Garcia Jr. was born on May 27, 1943 in San Benito, Texas.
He attended St. Theresa Catholic School for the elementary years and then graduated from San Benito High School in 1961. Ramon later began a career working with audio-video (A/V) equipment that he would be involved with for over forty years. One of his first jobs involved working with his father to start an A/V repair business in San Benito. Ramon went on to work with a variety of companies including JC Penney, Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Best Buy. His final place of employment was Memorial Hermann hospital where he began work in 1995 and remained an employee for the next fifteen years.
In 1976, Ramon married Eva Ana Arellano – “Ms. Bunny” – in San Benito, Texas and they later relocated to Houston, Texas where they settled and began a family. They had their first child, Ramon Jesus, in 1977 and then had a daughter, Paula, in 1981. In addition to family and work, Ramon enjoyed playing and listening to music and watching football with his favorite team being the Dallas Cowboys. In his younger days, Ramon played in a live band and later in life he became a faithful member of the Hispanic choir at his church where he was able to bring his talents for playing guitar and bass.
Ramon passed away on December 5, 2010 in Houston, Texas and funeral services will be held in Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Ana Garcia, and his two children, Ramon Jesus Garcia and Paula Garcia. Ramon is also survived by his siblings – Arcelia Kell, Loida Galvez, Connie Mayhood, Lorenzo Garcia, George Garcia, and Hector Garcia. Ramon was preceded in death by his mother, Consuelo Serrata, his father, Ramon Garcia (Sr.), and his sister, Marlena Cervantes.
